Things Are About To Get Oar-Some

The South West Regatta is coming up on March 2 and 3, incorporating the Australian Whale Boat Championships and the Victorian St Ayles Skiff Championship.

In preparation for the event, anyone looking to sign up are invited to sign up for one of the two come and try days are going to be held on November 11 and 18.

Warrnambool City Council Events and Promotions Coordinator Bec Elmes says that training for the event could be just as much fun as competing.

“No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided,”

“The boats are available for team practice sessions from now right through to the regatta in March, so you have four months to enjoy rowing on the Hopkins River with your friends while building up your fitness."

The come and try sessions will run from 10am until 12:30pm on the Hopkins River near Proudfoot's Boathouse.
